Protective Oil (Jade Oil) 2.5ltr
Our protective oil works in exactly the same way as the discontinued jade oil in displacing moisture from the surface of the metal and also helping to fix and enhance the colour of the patina after the item has been treated with antiquing fluid.As with Jade Oil, our Protective Oil will also help to protect bright metal components after polishing, and also bare mild steel and iron fabrications. The protective oil helps resisting tarnish and rusting of metal parts by leaving a thin residual film of Protective Oil over the surface of the item after the bulk of the oil has evaporated .
The item should be rinsed well after using Antiquing fluid to neutralise the antiquing reaction. The item should then be dried thoroughly before the Protective oil is applied liberally, with a soft cloth or brush, covering the area to be treated evenly.
Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before handling, or longer depending on the surrounding temperature.
Important
As with Jade Oil, always test Protective Oil on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result.
